BSA Charity Quiz Night – 12 March 2026

Charity Quiz Night Raises £800 for WAVE Trauma Centre

The Belfast Solicitors’ Association (BSA) hosted its annual Charity Quiz Night on 12 March 2026 at The Dark Horse, drawing a fantastic turnout of over 100 attendees. The atmosphere was buzzing, the competition was lively, and—as always—the craic was mighty.

The event was held in support of the WAVE Trauma Centre, a charity with longstanding links to many in the local legal community. Thanks to the enthusiasm and generosity of participants and sponsors, the evening successfully raised approximately £800 to support WAVE’s vital services. The BSA was also delighted to welcome Gráinne McKenna from WAVE Trauma Centre, who addressed attendees and later joined the HHDivas team for the quiz.

The BSA wishes to pay particular tribute to the invaluable organising efforts of committee members Sophie McClintock, Shannon Gawley and Owen Williamson, whose hard work and attention to detail ensured the smooth running and success of the event. Special thanks are also due to quizmaster Chris Kinney, who kept the evening entertaining, challenging, and expertly paced throughout.

Generous Sponsors and Prize Donors

This year’s quiz was proudly sponsored by ACHuman, whose support played a major role in the success of the event. Additional prizes were generously donated by:

  • Harbinson Mulholland
  • McCann & McCann Solicitors
  • HHD Solicitors
  • Phoenix Law
  • Crossin Opticians

Their contributions helped create a brilliant and engaging night for all involved.

Winners and… Not So Winners

Congratulations to the overall champions, “Lion Sleeps Tonight”, led by Mr Paul Moylan, former BSA Chair. Their victory earned them not only bragging rights but also the admiration of a highly competitive field of teams.

At the other end of the scoreboard, the coveted Wooden Spoon went to “No Eye Dear”. In true mysterious fashion, the BSA remains completely in the dark about who exactly was on this team—they know who they are.

A Night of Community and Craic

The BSA extends sincere thanks to everyone who attended, donated, or supported the event in any capacity. The combination of great company, spirited competition, and community generosity made for a memorable evening in aid of a truly deserving cause.
