The Belfast Solicitors Association is pleased to announce that John O’Kelly has been elected Chairperson at its Annual General Meeting held on 2 December 2025. Mr O’Kelly is a Partner in Belfast-based law firm HHD Solicitors and succeeds to the role following a strong year of engagement and representation by outgoing Chairperson Robert Croskery. Mr O’Kelly stated
“ I feel honoured and fortunate to have been entrusted with the role of representing the solicitor profession in Belfast. I am grateful to our outgoing Chairperson Robert Croskery for his commitment and guidance over the past year. The Association has a strong and proud history and the new committee is eager to build upon that record in 2026 by furthering the interests of its members and the wider profession.”
The BSA also confirmed the election of Chris Kinney as Treasurer and Claire McKeegan as Honorary Secretary. Their appointments form part of the newly constituted committee, which brings together solicitors from across Belfast to support and advocate for the interests of members.
Looking ahead to 2026, the committee has set clear priorities including addressingoutstanding costs issues with urgency. In keeping with long-standing tradition, the BSA will also deliver a full programme of social events alongside an extensive CPD calendar throughout the year.
The BSA extends its thanks to all outgoing committee members for their service and looks forward to a productive year ahead under the leadership of the newly elected officers.
