HIGH COURT BAIL APPLICATIONS – 13th March 2015
The Office of the Lord Chief Justice has asked the Society to bring the following letter to the attention of members.
Dear Colleague As you will be aware, there is to be a day of industrial action throughout the public sector on Friday 13 March 2015. There is likely to be an impact on the ability of people to get to courts on this date as a result of additional caring responsibilities if schools are closed, and if there are restrictions to the public transport network.
The Lord Chief Justice has directed that there will be no High Court Bails listed on this date save for exceptional circumstances. There will be no limit on the number of bail applications listed in the High Court on Thursday 12 March and Monday 16 March.
Practitioners are advised that if they wish a bail application to be heard on Thursday 12 March, the time limit for getting the papers lodged has been extended until 9am tomorrow morning.
